MIMI_Project 2024
my intimacy needs more initiative
An intercultural-performative women's project
For women with/without a history of migration,What different cultural meanings and attributions does the female body have in different cultures? Our body is the living documentation of our history. Learning to listen to, express and respect our body's desires gives us freedom and power. It allows us to share these intimate and personal stories and get to know the stories of other women. Until February 2025, we would like to artistically research, discuss, dance, write and publicly present our results with you, who want to deal with their body biography in different cultures in an appreciative, aesthetic way.
The project consists of 3 workshops, 3 rehearsal days and a public MIMI festival in E-WERK Freiburg.
Workshop Dance and Empowerment:
Saturday 16.11.24, 18:00 - 21:00 and Sunday 17.11.24 from 10:00 - 15:00
Dance and bodywork workshop:
Saturday 07.12.24 / 18:00 - 21:00 and Sunday 08.12. 24 / 10:00 - 15:00
Dance and creative writing workshop:
Saturday 18.01.25, 10:00 - 21:00 and Sunday 19.01. 25 from 10:00 - 15:00
In addition, 3 Saturdays for rehearsals in preparation for performances,
which will be presented at a festival at E-WERK.
Saturdays / 25.01.25 from 10:00 - 14:00 / 08.02.25 from 10:00 - 14:00 / 09.02.25 from 10:00 - 14:00
In these rehearsals, the choreographies, improvisations, texts and images created by the participants will be artistically transformed into performative formats and installations, depending on the wishes of each individual. The spectrum can range from anonymous audio and video works to dance performances, spoken choirs or readings. The focus is on gently accompanying the participants on their next individual step.
Project conclusion: FESTIVAL MIMI on Sunday, 09.02.25 from 14:00 to 18:00 at EWERK
At this festival, only the participants of the project will present their performances, poems and installations, which they also want to perform and show. But everyone can celebrate!
