bewegungs-art freiburg e.V. has dedicated itself to the contemporary art of dance and the individual promotion of artistic personalities.  We have been around for more than 40 years. At the moment we are nine dancers who are actively involved in the activities of the association.

What has united us since the beginning is our passion for movement and the love of dance, improvisation and performance. We believe that dance art is sustainable as well as relevant to the times and to society.

We represent a humanistic view of humanity. For us, creative processes are shaped by the individual and create a wide variety of artistic output. The development of the dancers' personality is developed step-by-step and is embedded in the context of contemporary trends.
The quintessential ideas of improvisation accompany us through all areas and levels of our work.
For us, working artistically means: extracting the personal style, expanding the possibilities of expression and deepening the language of movement. In this way, the dance-makers find their own aesthetics and their own understanding of art. For us, dance also evolves in interdisciplinary crossovers.

In our organization, a wide variety of people of different ages and from diverse backgrounds work together. All of them have undergone dance training, and are currently or have been artistically active for a long time. Each of us is responsible for one or more of the organization's fields of activity (TEAM).

Our fields of activity extend from vocational training, continued education and advanced training - including professional training - to participatory dance and dance outreach, as well as various stage formats such as the open stage, the onCe-festival and the performance project.

For us, the connection to current dance scenes is important.
As a shareholder of Tanznetz Freiburg gUG, we are committed to the development of the independent contemporary dance scene in Freiburg and the region (NETWORK).
